Overall Excellent
Great cappucino! Delicious scones, friendly service, bright and cheerful setting. Favourite meeting place for locals and perfect stop for day trippers to chill after checking out the fun and funky boutique shopping up and down Mill St.

Overall Excellent
It all boils down to a simple equation: tasty (coffee + sandwiches + soups + treats) x (modern + cozy + artsy + warm + inviting) environment x Palms = brilliant

Overall Very Good
Great food and a wonderful small town busy atmosphere. Well worth the trip from Ottawa on a good travel day. Highly recommended. Gave it four stars because I stayed too long and was late for an appointment.

My husband and I are moving to Almonte shortly and we have declared Palms to be our new home away from home. We love coffee shops and Palms has excellent coffee, great light lunches, particularly the scones…..yum….and a wonderful warm staff. Palm’s has made us feel very welcome in Almonte.

Congratulations on your first year in Almonte. I moved here last year from Ottawa and, as a coffee affectionato and Internet fan, I appreciate the excellent cappicinos and the WiFi access. More importantly, you and your charming staff have made me feel in home. As an artist, I have also had the good fortune to network in your shop and to meet other like minded people here. Your food is absolutely delicious and all home made. I thought that I had reached the pinnacle of culinary delight when I tried your mushroom and Brie panini. Having orange flavored water always freely available for your customers is really appreciated. I wish you many more years of success and happiness. Thank you for your hospitality. What a wonderful asset to out [sic] town! :p

When I visit friends in Almonte, we come to Palms, a common and happy place with a strong local flavour. We have double espresso and a sandwich. They do both these things well. Then we share a square. And then we get another square and we share that one too. That’s how we do it here. Check the website for the local art exhibits.

I stopped by for a mochachinno and a red pepper and cheddar scone with butter today, and it was great! My friend and I hung out in the comfy chairs, played a game of Scrabble (which was so handily available) and had a wonderful time. Definitely love Palms and will stop by there again whenever I’m in Almonte.

Just wanted to say thanks for some really tasty dishes. Nice interior and warm smiles made our meal even more enjoyable. You’re doing it right.

And so to Almonte where Palms on Mill Street offers an irresistible cheddar and roasted red pepper scone (who is Weetabix to buck a trend?) with a credible double espresso (Equator). Art on the walls and a well-lighted open space makes for a relaxing setting, and owner- chef Sally Parsons offers the ultimate mission statement for her bakery-café: “It’s about the experience… you go away happier than you came in”. I did.

Scrumptious – that’s all that needs to be said. You are a baking genius.

I am so fed up that Palms is so far away from me in the UK. I have tasted Sally’s food and know it is addictive and heartwarming – just like her. You locals are so lucky to have it. Eat an extra one for me! :p

Having worked in the restaurant business for many years, I know that fresh, top quality ingredients make the difference…so does Sally!

I took 80 bucks worth of Sally’s baked goods back with me to the UK. It was’nt enough. The best baker this side of Pluto!

Sally has absolute compassion in creating the best culinary experience, while completely focused on the customer experience. Plus she is adamant on supporting local produce and artisants. Palms is a true treasure which I absolutely adore…. Just try the chocolate and banana bread or Queen E cake… I DARE YOU.

Last week I had 5 scones in 2 hours. There, it’s off my chest.

That brie creation with the mushrooms is out of this galaxie! I love the staff and the great vibe and nice music. Thank you!

I had the rhubarb pie and then I had it again. Wonderful! I’ll be coming back.
